Purchasing Agent – New Position

Our client, a growing contract manufacturer based in Central Vermont, produces high-quality electromechanical and electro pneumatic systems for industries like packaging, beverage dispensing, and 3D printing. As they expand operations, they’re looking for a Purchasing Agent to help ensure materials and components arrive on time and within budget.

 

About the Role
As a Purchasing Agent, you’ll play a key role in managing vendor relationships, sourcing materials, and coordinating with internal teams to keep production running smoothly. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

 

Responsibilities

  • Source components and raw materials in line with production needs

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers

  • Track purchase orders and maintain accurate records in ERP system

  • Resolve delivery or quality issues in collaboration with vendors and internal teams

  • Identify cost savings and supply chain improvements

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in a manufacturing setting

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering and production teams

 

Location:  Client’s Vermont manufacturing facility.
