Our client is a fast-growing contract manufacturer in Central Vermont, known for producing high-quality electromechanical and electro pneumatic systems for industries like packaging, beverage dispensing, and 3D printing. As the company scales, they’re seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing strategies and supplier relationships.
About the Role
As Purchasing Manager, you’ll lead a small procurement team and oversee all purchasing functions—from vendor selection and contract negotiation to inventory planning and cost control. You’ll collaborate across departments to ensure materials are available, quality standards are met, and procurement supports production and growth goals.
Responsibilities
Lead purchasing activities and manage supplier relationships
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to drive value and reliability
Oversee inventory levels and purchasing schedules in alignment with production
Identify and implement cost savings and process improvements
Manage ERP purchasing functions and maintain accurate records
Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Finance to align procurement strategy
Requirements
5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience in manufacturing
Prior team leadership or supervisory experience
Strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills
ERP system experience and proficiency in Excel
Proven ability to build vendor relationships and solve supply chain challenges
Location: Client’s Vermont manufacturing location
